The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is looking for an

University Assistant without doctorate

(30 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of four years; position to be filled as of now )

Your duties

  • Research in bioinformatics; independent research and collaborative projects as member of the Computational Pharmacology team in the framework of the Field of Excellence BioHealth
  • Participation in the writing of scientific articles and reports
  • Participation in teaching and (co-)supervision of students
  • Writing a PhD thesis

Your profile

  • Master or Diploma degree in a field of the Life sciences or the Technical Sciences conveying knowledge in informatics
  • Knowledge in programming, and data handling and evaluation
  • Basic programming skills
  • Practical knowledge and advanced skills in computational biology and/or bioinformatics, statistics, handling of mass spectrometry data, or biological data integration approaches in proteomics, metabolomics or lipidomics are of advantage
  • Excellent skills in English
  • Basic skills in German are required
  • Good skills in German (desirable)
  • Didactic skills for teaching independently (desirable)
  • Highly analytical and problem-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including willingness to work in a team
  • Enthusiasm in research and teaching

Our offer


Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

Minimum salary

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 2196.80 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
